Frequently asked questions

Choosing

What does an LVT floor cost per m²?

With us prices run from €23.95 per m² for the 2.5 mm dry-back line to €57.95 per m² for the 6 mm Diamonds collection. All prices include VAT. Add € 15 to € 30 per m² if you have the floor fitted.

What is the difference between click and dry-back?

Click is laid floating without adhesive and you can do it yourself; dry-back is 2.5 mm thin, fully bonded, and needs a level subfloor and usually a professional. Dry-back gives the lowest build-up and the best heat transfer with underfloor heating.

Which thickness should I have?

For a living room, 5 or 6 mm click with integrated underlay. For a bedroom or guest room, 5 mm is more than enough. Choose 2.5 mm dry-back for structural reasons, not to save money.

What does use class 33 mean?

That the floor is suitable for heavy domestic use and light commercial use — an office or shop, for example. For home use that is more than sufficient.

Does LVT fade in sunlight?

Our floors are UV-resistant, but extremely prolonged direct sunlight behind glass can cause slight fading over time. With a large south-facing glazed facade we recommend solar shading — sensible for any floor type.

Installing

Can I do it myself?

Click LVT: yes. An average living room takes a day, herringbone one and a half to two. Dry-back: better not, unless you have experience with adhesives. Read our installation guide first.

Do I need an underlay?

Not with our click floors — they already have one. An extra separate underlay is actually inadvisable, because the locking edges then move too much and can break.

Can it go over my existing tiles?

Yes, provided the tiles are sound and the grout lines are no deeper than 3 mm. With deeper joints, level first, otherwise the grout pattern telegraphs through.

How much cutting waste should I allow?

5% for a plank floor, 10% for herringbone. The calculator on each product page does this automatically and converts it into whole packs.

Is LVT suitable for underfloor heating?

Yes, up to a surface temperature of 27 °C. Turn the heating off 48 hours before laying and raise it again in steps of 5 °C per day.

Care & warranty

How do I care for an LVT floor?

Vacuum or sweep, and mop lightly damp with a pH-neutral cleaner. No abrasives, no bleach, no steam cleaner. Felt pads under furniture legs and a doormat at the door prevent 90% of all scratches.

Can I replace a damaged plank?

With click you can unclick the floor back to the damaged plank and replace it. So always keep one spare pack from the same batch.

How much warranty do I get?

20 years on click floors and 15 years on dry-back, against wear under normal domestic use.

Is LVT waterproof?

The material itself is 100% waterproof. With a click floor, standing water can still get under the floor through the joints. In wet rooms we therefore recommend fully bonding.
