When to choose dry-back
Dry-back is the professional’s choice, for three reasons. Build-up height: at 2.5 mm including adhesive you stay under 3 mm, so doors, thresholds and adjoining floors still fit. Underfloor heating: fully bonded gives the best heat transfer. Stability: a bonded floor cannot move, which suits large continuous areas without expansion gaps.
The trade-off
A bonded floor makes high demands of the subfloor and is not easily removed. If you already know you will want something else in five years, or the subfloor cannot be made level, choose click LVT.

Frequently asked questions
Why dry-back with underfloor heating?
Because the floor is fully bonded there is no air layer between the floor and the screed. The heat goes straight into the room instead of being held in an underlay. At 2.5 mm, dry-back also has the lowest thermal resistance in our range.
Which adhesive do I need?
A water-based dispersion adhesive for vinyl, applied with an A2 notched trowel. With underfloor heating, choose an adhesive approved for it. Always check the adhesive manufacturer’s technical data sheet.
How level must the subfloor be for dry-back?
Stricter than for click: a maximum 1 mm deviation over 1 metre. Because the floor is only 2.5 mm thick, every irregularity shows through the surface. With dry-back, levelling is the rule rather than the exception.
Can I install dry-back myself?
You can, but we advise against it unless you have experience. You work within an open adhesive time, have to stay perfectly aligned, and cannot lift a plank once it is down. For most DIYers click is the wiser choice.
