Stick the skirting up with the applied tape or with assembly adhesive, onto a clean, dry, grease-free wall. Cut corners at a mitre for a seamless join.
Vacuum or sweep, and mop lightly damp with a pH-neutral cleaner. Do not use abrasives, bleach or a steam cleaner. Put felt pads under furniture legs and a mat at the front door — grit is the main cause of scratches.
